Argentinian Man Fatally Shot in Front of Granddaughters; Suspect at Large
A brazen daylight shooting in La Reja, Argentina, has left a man dead and a community reeling. Maximiliano Jonathan Requejo Pozzi was fatally shot outside his home on Santa Cruz Street, in full view of his granddaughters and a neighbor, authorities confirmed Monday.
The shocking incident, captured on local security cameras, unfolded with chilling speed. Requejo Pozzi reportedly walked to the sidewalk and greeted a visitor who had rung his doorbell. Within moments, the visitor produced a firearm and opened fire at point-blank range.
Details of the Attack
According to reports, the attacker fired two shots, striking Requejo Pozzi in the armpit and abdomen. He then fled the scene in a waiting vehicle. Witnesses described a scene of immediate chaos and desperation. A neighbor immediately contacted emergency services, while Requejo Pozzi, lying wounded, pleaded with one of his granddaughters to “Call your grandmother.”
The victim was transported to the Mariano and Luciano de la Vega Hospital, where he remained hospitalized for two days before succumbing to his injuries.
Investigation Underway
The case has been classified as aggravated homicide due to the use of a firearm. Prosecutor Carina Saucedo, of UFI No. 2 of Moreno, is leading the investigation and has ordered a comprehensive review of security footage from the surrounding area to trace the suspect’s escape route.
Authorities are currently working to identify the perpetrator and establish a motive for the attack.
