The Lumberjacks are set to compete in a balanced mix of home and away contests, with eight matches hosted in Flagstaff and eleven on the road, including three neutral site competitions. The 2026 Big Sky Championships are scheduled to take place from April 23-25 at the Phoenix Tennis Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Season Kickoff and Early Road Swing
NAU will begin the season with a pair of doubleheaders at home, welcoming Western New Mexico on January 23, followed by Ottawa (AZ) to close out the opening weekend. The team will then hit the road, traveling to Utah State to face the Aggies on January 30.
February will be heavily focused on away matches. The Lumberjacks will first compete against Utah in Salt Lake City on February 1, then travel to Phoenix to challenge Grand Canyon on February 13. A Valentine’s Day contest against Hawaii will be held in the Phoenix area as a neutral match. The team continues its road trip, heading to Colorado Springs for a neutral meeting with Gardner-Webb on February 21, followed by a match against Air Force on February 22. February concludes with the Big Sky Conference opener, hosting Idaho State in Flagstaff on February 27.
March and April Competition
The Lumberjacks will return to Flagstaff to begin March, hosting Denver on March 7 and Portland State on March 8. April opens with crucial Big Sky matchups against the defending champion Montana Griz and the Montana State Bobcats on April 3 and 5, respectively. Following a two-week break, NAU will conclude its regular season with a final home match against Idaho on April 19.
Fall Success Carries Momentum into 2026
The Lumberjacks concluded a successful Fall season on November 9 with strong showings at the ITA Conference Masters. The doubles pairing of Takumi Katsuda and Vincent Vohl earned a nomination to the event after reaching the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships in October. This marks the second consecutive year that NAU has had a doubles team selected for the prestigious ITA Conference Masters.
