German Schools Lead the Way in AI Education, Winning National Prize
Lower Saxony schools are at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence into the classroom, wiht the Peace School Osnabrück and the Ernst Reuter School Pattensen taking top honors at the nationwide AI School Prize award ceremony held Thursday in Heilbronn. The initiative recognizes innovative approaches to using AI to enhance education and prepare students for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Pioneering AI Integration in Lower Saxony
The AI School Prize 2025 received 190 applications, with most from Lower Saxony. It celebrates schools using AI to promote equity, school development, and reduce teacher workload. Five Lower Saxony schools were finalists.
Peace School Osnabrück’s “demoKI” Project Takes First Place
demoKI-The Peace School Osnabrück won first place (€15,000) with a project combining AI and democracy education. Students develop chatbots, explore AI ethics, and share resources.
Ernst Reuter School Pattensen’s “Cyberethics” Curriculum Earns Recognition
Cyberethics-The Ernst Reuter School Pattensen placed third (€5,000) with a curriculum examining the technological, social, and moral implications of AI.
