South Carolina women’s basketball continues to solidify its status as a recruiting juggernaut. Head coach Dawn Staley announced that Jerzy Robinson signs with Gamecocks as part of a high-profile commitment that brings one of the most versatile prospects in the nation to Columbia.
Robinson, a 6-foot guard from Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California, will join the program with four years of eligibility beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Currently rated as the No. 6 player in the Class of 2026, Robinson arrives with a pedigree that blends domestic dominance with a rare level of international success.
The addition of Robinson is a strategic win for Staley, who has built the Gamecocks into a perennial powerhouse. By securing a player with Robinson’s size and scoring range, South Carolina adds a multi-dimensional threat capable of impacting the game both on the perimeter and in the post.
A Versatile Offensive Engine
Coach Staley highlighted Robinson’s ability to score from multiple positions, noting that the recruit’s physical presence and confidence are key assets that will integrate well into the Gamecocks’ system.
“Jerzy is an all-level scorer who can shoot it from outside, get to her spots and be physical in the paint,” Staley said. “Beyond that, she has a winning mentality that she brings to every possession and every matchup she faces. Her competitive spirit and confidence will elevate our program. We can’t wait to get Jerzy to campus and for the FAMS to embrace her and her family.”

That versatility is backed by a prolific high school career. In just three seasons with the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers, Robinson became the program’s all-time leading scorer. She maintained a scoring average of over 20.0 points per game throughout her tenure and demonstrated her rebounding prowess by averaging double-digit boards during her first two seasons.
Robinson’s senior campaign was a masterclass in efficiency and leadership. She averaged 21.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, earning her the title of Southern California Offensive Player of the Year by High School on Sports Illustrated. Her impact peaked during the CIF-SS Open Division championship, where she led the Trailblazers to the title by recording 32 points and 12 rebounds in the final game.
International Pedigree and USA Basketball Success
While her high school stats are impressive, Robinson’s experience on the global stage distinguishes her from most collegiate recruits. She has been a fixture for USA Basketball since the age of 14, consistently performing against the best talent in the world.
Her ascent began at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, where she led the tournament in scoring with 17.3 points per game. This performance earned her the MVP award, making her the youngest MVP in the history of the event. She followed this by leading the U.S. To gold at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, where she again claimed MVP honors after averaging a tournament-best 20.1 points and 6.9 rebounds.
Robinson continued her gold-medal streak at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup and most recently showcased her skill at the Nike Hoops Summit, where she scored a team-high 19 points in just 23 minutes of play.

The combination of Andrews, Wynn, and Robinson gives the Gamecocks a balanced infusion of talent across different positions. For the University of South Carolina athletics department, this recruiting cycle represents a commitment to maintaining a high ceiling for the program’s championship aspirations.
By targeting players with proven success in high-pressure environments—such as the FIBA World Cup and the CIF-SS Open Division—Staley is ensuring that the next generation of Gamecocks is prepared for the rigors of NCAA tournament play.
The next major milestone for the program will be the arrival of the 2026 class on campus for the start of the 2026-27 academic year, marking the beginning of Robinson’s collegiate career in Columbia.
