Germany’s Elvellon, a symphonic metal band, announced yesterday that all upcoming performances are canceled due to the worsening health of vocalist Nele. The band shared the news via social media, citing the difficult decision as necessary for Nele’s recovery.
Health Struggles Force Band Hiatus
The band’s lead vocalist is facing significant health challenges, leading to the indefinite suspension of all concert plans and a focus on recovery.
- Vocalist Nele is battling undisclosed health issues that prevent her from performing.
- All Elvellon concerts and future plans have been canceled to prioritize Nele’s health.
- The band intends to continue writing music and hopes for a future return.
- Nele’s recovery is currently estimated to take approximately two years.
“It is with a broken heart that I have to inform you that I am struggling with serious health problems,” Nele stated in a message accompanying the announcement. “As a result, I am unable to perform concerts.” The vocalist explained that her health has deteriorated, particularly over the past year, forcing her to step back from the band to concentrate on getting well.
Nele revealed that her diagnoses are “partly chronic and aggravate each other,” and that medication contributes to extreme fatigue. “I am simply not able to perform, let alone keep my voice healthy and trained or to fulfill my duties in the band,” she explained. “My body just doesn’t cooperate anymore and I can no longer play my instrument without damaging it.”
What is the estimated timeline for Nele’s recovery? Experts currently predict a healing process of around two years, though the long-term outlook remains uncertain.
The band acknowledged the disappointment for fans who were anticipating concerts or new music. “I’m so sorry to disappoint everyone who was looking forward to a concert or a new album from me,” Nele said. “I wish I could change the circumstances. But for now, I’m focused on doing everything I can to get well, and I’m thinking of all of you.”
Elvellon assured fans that the band is not disbanding. Ticket holders for canceled concerts can obtain refunds or exchange their tickets at the point of purchase. “We still have to figure out exactly how to proceed, but Elvellon is not dead!” the band stated. “We will continue to write new music and not give up hope for a comeback.”
The band concluded with a message of care and encouragement to their fans: “Take care of yourselves.”
