The actress, visibly moved, addressed her supporters in a video posted online. “Thank you, thank you for all your messages, you are truly amazing,” she said. Seated in a hospital bed, she added, “I am at the hospital now, about to test the lymph nodes and lymph glands, I’m feeling fine, I’m really positive.”
Later, filmed at home with her dog, Arthur, by her side, Callard shared that initial tests “all seemed to go well.” She explained, “They tested lymph nodes and things, so I should know by Wednesday of next week about that. I have another appointment then, and then two days later, on the 20th, I have the operation.”
Despite the challenging news, Callard remained optimistic, noting the resilience she observed in fellow patients. “I’m feeling really positive, but I also must say, there were dozens of ladies in there just the same as me, and they were all positive as well and upbeat, so we’re getting there and sticking together,” she said.
She playfully acknowledged her canine companion, saying, “Look at this, I’m sure Arthur knows,” as she stroked his fur. “I’m sure he knows, they do say that, don’t they, but everything’s really good so far.”
