The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to assert their dominance in the NBA’s Western Conference, even amidst injury challenges, while the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies also claimed victories.
The OKC Thunder demonstrated resilience at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, appearing unfazed by the continued absence of MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander due to injury. Rookie Ajay Mitchell stepped into the starting lineup, contributing seven points, two rebounds, and four assists in nearly 29 minutes of play. However, it was forward Jalen Williams and center Chet Holmgren who led the scoring charge, each posting 25 points.
With an impressive 23 wins against only one defeat, the Thunder maintain a commanding lead in the Western Conference. The Lakers, currently in second place, trail by a significant six games.
LeBron James spearheaded the Lakers’ triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers with a stellar performance, recording 29 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in a 108-112 victory.
Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers suffered a setback, falling 119-96 to the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedExForum. Despite a solid effort from starter Toumani Camara, who tallied 13 points, six rebounds, and an assist, the Blazers couldn’t overcome the Grizzlies’ offensive power. Santi Aldama emerged as the top scorer for Memphis, leading all players with 22 points. This loss marks the Blazers’ fifteenth of the season, causing them to slip to tenth place in the Western Conference standings.
