The latest information on Apple’s 2024 iPhone lineup has been leaked, giving us a sneak peek at prototypes of the Pro devices. MacRumors has created a series of mockups based on these internal designs, offering the clearest look yet at what we can expect from the next-generation iPhones.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are set to build on the curved edges and titanium frame introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro. These new models will feature increased display sizes and a new capacitive Capture button.
Reports indicate that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have larger displays, measuring at 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, up from 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches in previous models. This increase in size is related to the addition of a 5x tetraprism Telephoto camera, which will be available on both Pro iPhone models this year.
Apple has also experimented with different design details for the devices, testing four different button configurations. The company appears to have settled on a button design similar to the one on the iPhone 15 Pro, with an added button on the right side of the iPhone.
Both Pro models in the iPhone 16 range will be equipped with a multi-purpose Action button, capable of performing a range of functions based on user preference. An earlier design for a larger capacitive button with a force sensor has since been replaced by a standard mechanical Action button.
The iPhone 16 Pro models will also feature an all-new Capture button, expected to be a capacitive-type button with force sensor functionality, used for taking video. Apple is also said to be planning a new color option for the devices, in addition to the existing ones from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
While the mockups provide an accurate portrayal of the current design of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, it is important to note that changes are still possible as the devices are in an early stage of development.
