Luffy and Loki are about to shake things up in the “ONE PIECE” manga, arriving just as a desperate battle unfolds on Elbaph.
“The most powerful thing in the world.”
A Dramatic Turn in Elbaph
The latest chapter of “ONE PIECE” delivers a gut-wrenching sequence of events as Sommers, reveling in the impending doom of children, faces an unexpected intervention. A cover illustration depicts a playful scene of Usopp attempting to lure beetles with honey, observed by a wistful Chopper.
- Sommers, initially intending to safely transport children to the Holy Land, now embraces their fatal fall.
- Ripley and other family members make a heartbreaking sacrifice, choosing to fall with the children rather than leave them alone.
- Luffy, in his Gear 5 giant form, and Loki, transformed into a massive dragon, arrive to save the day.
The chapter picks up immediately after the previous one, with Sommers reeling from the destruction caused by the Nika MMA, which has created a massive hole in the sea of clouds, thwarting any escape for the children. Sommers attempts to restrain the children, driven forward by Gunko’s arrow, but finds himself captivated by the unfolding tragedy.
Sommers’s descent into cruelty is chilling, as he openly delights in the children’s impending deaths. “What the hell… this way of killing them is sublime!!! It’s worth trying!! Plus, it will also be a mistake for “your highness”!! Since he took control of Gunko’s body!! Those tears!!! Those screams calling for each other!!! This love between parents and children!!! This thing I feel… what an “emotion” to see them dead!!,” he exclaims with disturbing glee.
A Heartbreaking Descent
Sommers coldly informs the children that his original plan has been abandoned, leaving them to a “fun… I mean, a terrible fall to death.” Colon, overcome with remorse, cries out, vowing to never misbehave again, while flashbacks reveal moments of parental guidance – like Ripley gently scolding Colon for winning a “duel” and keeping a robot toy resembling Emeth, urging him to be kind to others.
In a profoundly sad double-page spread, Ripley embraces Colon, shielding him from the invisible thorns surrounding him, declaring, “Colon!! Come with me…!! I’m sorry… I couldn’t do this…” Colon pleads with his mother to stay away, fearing for her safety, but Ripley insists on facing their fate together: “I don’t care. I’m not going to let you die alone!!” They, along with Oimo, Ange, and Road, fall into the “Underworld” in a devastating display of familial love.
Luffy and Loki Enter the Fray
Just as all hope seems lost, Elbaph begins to tremble, and a colossal figure emerges: Loki, transformed into a Western-style dragon reminiscent of those from “Game of Thrones,” but with the head of the dragon from “Sleeping Beauty,” complete with his signature horns. Luffy, in his Gear 5 giant form, appears atop the dragon, rescuing the children and their families.
Loki’s eyes glow with a menacing intensity, similar to Big Mom’s or those of demons affected by Domi Reversi. The arrival of Loki triggers a “snowstorm” of lightning across Elbaph, a manifestation of his Akuma no Mi’s powers, the nature of which remains unknown.
Chaos and a Powerful Alliance
Dragon Loki safely transports the children and their families before engaging the MMA monsters. Simultaneously, the sound of drums reverberates across the island, startling the giants, infuriating Sommers, and capturing the silent attention of Imu/Gunko. The giants question the source of the rhythm: “What is this rhythm!? Elbaph is shaking!!”.
A spectacular double-page spread showcases dragon Loki unleashing devastation upon the MMA monsters, with giant Luffy and Ragnir in squirrel form perched on his head. Luffy, in this form, is four times larger than Ragnir, yet only a third the size of one of Loki’s horns, emphasizing the dragon’s immense scale.
A Prophetic Declaration
The chapter concludes with a message from Jarul: “On the day of the lightning ‘snowstorm’…!! A ‘gigantic beast’ appears covering the sky…!! And together with the ‘drum of liberation’… ‘the Sun God’ descends…!!!” Luffy, exhilarated by the chaos, exclaims, “Ahhyahyahya!! This is so much fun!! But look how big you are!!!”
Chapter 1174 of “ONE PIECE” will be available on the Manga Plus website this Sunday, February 15, 2026, as confirmed by Weekly Shonen Jump.
The chapter also features a brief interlude where Zoro skillfully intervenes in a battle against Dorry, Brogy, and the giants, utilizing his three-sword technique. Brook partially frees himself and confronts Gunko, identifying her as “Princess Shuri” and accusing her of harming her former benefactor. Sanji reunites with Nami’s group, while Robin remains entangled in Sommers’s vines.
Gerd, Goldberg, and Road launch a combined attack, “Triple Commander: Roaring Nation,” destroying the ship intended for the children’s abduction and sending Sommers into shock.
