Jakarta – Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo was questioned by police today regarding allegations of diploma forgery. The inquiry took place at the Solo Police Headquarters, adding a new layer to a developing controversy.

The former president spent roughly two and a half hours answering questions related to claims questioning the validity of his educational credentials.

Widodo’s attorney, Yakub Hasibuan, clarified that the appearance was in response to a summons from investigators working in both Solo and Jogja. He indicated the questioning went well, with investigators focusing on the details of the alleged defamation.
“There were around 10 questions, of course the development was quite good, around 2.5 hours. We came in at 16.00. Of those 10 questions, of course there were lots of sub-questions too,” Hasibuan explained.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as authorities continue their work in Solo and Jogja. The case has drawn significant attention in Indonesia, raising questions about the integrity of public figures and the importance of verifying credentials.
